This Week’s Workouts: 12/10-12/16

Congratulations on another marathon finish for Benny Tam. He finished the Honolulu Marathon in 3:26:53 this Sunday.

More congratulations go out to Jason Rhee, Cami Hausheer, Chuck Kim, and Denie Wong. On Sunday, they represented our club in the NYC Ekiden, a relay race in Central Park.

This year was very successful for our club. In the NYRR final club standings, our women’s team finished tied for 23rd place out of 62 teams in the Open B division. Our men’s masters team finished in 15th place out of 73 teams. And our men’s team finished in 2nd place out of 73 teams in the Open B division, the best finish ever by our men’s team.

Monday. Easy Run.

Run the 5-mile loop in a counterclockwise direction.

Wednesday.Run the 6-mile loop in a counterclockwise direction. Surge on all the hills. End your run at the base of Strawberry Fields Hill. Walk to the steepest part of the hill. Do lunges uphill (10 on each leg). Walk down the hill to where you started, and do as many pushups as you can. (Face downhill. If you have difficulty doing pushups, face uphill.) Do a total of 3 sets of lunges and 3 sets of pushups. Cool down back to 63rd Street.
