This week’s workouts: 10/24-10/30

2 weeks until NYC Marathon!

Monday 10/24/11: Mile Repeats & P J Clarkes

As a group, jog warm up to the middle of the 72nd Street Transverse. Run clockwise around the lower loop for one mile, to the traffic light at the Columbus Circle park entrance. Rest for 3 minutes, then run along the same route back to the middle of the transverse. Run 3 repeats, each at a pace that is about 35 seconds faster than your 10K race pace per mile. Wait at the traffic light, and jog back to WSY as a group. After the workout, we’ll go across the street to P J Clarkes for a team outing!

Wednesday 10/26/11: 6-Mile loop

Run the 6-mile loop counterclockwise, at an easy-medium pace (or marathon goal pace, if you are running NYC).

“The marathon is a charismatic event. It has everything. It has drama. It has competition. It has camaraderie. It has heroism. Every jogger can’t dream of being an Olympic champion, but he can dream of finishing a marathon.” – Fred Lebow
